Callander Kirk has established a variety of youth activities to support the spiritual development of young people in our community.

JAM – Meets in the Kirk Hall on a Thursday evening at 7 O’clock for p7 – s6.  There is a variety of fun activities for the young people to engage with.  These include sports activities like football and dodge ball, cooking ideas like smoothie-making and cupcake decorating, arts and crafts like bangle making and poster designing and many more.  We also have a chill out space with WII, DVD’s, board games and bean bags!  We also organize traveling suppers, barbecues, trips and Outdoor activities for the young people.

Each week we invite a guest speaker to share a testimony of God’s work in their lives.  This gives an opportunity for the young people to be challenged in their faith and to ask questions.  We also run Youth Alpha courses and often bring instruments along for worship!

THE POINT – Meets on Thursday Lunchtime at McLaren High School for s1-s3.  It is supported by s5+6 volunteers, Heart to Heart and the Chaplaincy team.  Similar to an SU club we enjoy a variety of activities; ice breakers, movie clips, team challenges, messy games, “grill a minister,” Q and A, prayer stations, food challenges etc.  All these activities are used to promote discussion and engage young people with the bible.  The club has been very well attended and all young people from the High School are welcome to come along and take part!

SU Primary – Meets at Callander Primary school on a Friday Lunch Time.  Although the group is primarily targeted at p5-7, all the children from the school are welcome to join in.  There are lots to get involved in; plenty of singing, craft activities, competitions, party games, quizzes and fun challenges.  Again all these activities are used to explore themes in the bible and engage young people with the significance of Jesus Christ to their lives.

Youth Service – On the first Sunday of every month we usually have a youth-led church service in the Kirk Hall at 10.  All the young people are welcome to get involved in leading and participating in various elements of the church service; worship leading, performing dramas, scripture reading, stewarding, and praying have been led by the young people so far!

If you have any questions, would like to get involved, or know young people in the area who are yet to connect with us but interested, please contact Duncan, Sue or John.
